OVHcloud
European sovereign cloud, without the lock-in or the surprise bills.
Why OVHcloud
When data residency, regulatory posture and predictable costs matter more than the sprawling service catalogue of a US hyperscaler, OVHcloud is our first choice. As one of Europe’s largest cloud providers, it runs its own data centres, network and hardware across the continent, under European law.
We use OVHcloud for confidential AI workloads, GPU training, hosted databases and managed Kubernetes, often alongside a hyperscaler estate rather than as a wholesale replacement. The result is a sovereign, cost-transparent home for the workloads that need it, and the freedom to run everything else where it makes most sense.
Idiro brings senior engineers who have delivered regulated, production workloads on OVHcloud, with security, networking and FinOps designed in from the start.
What sets OVHcloud apart
Sovereign by design
Data centres operated in Europe under European law, with SecNumCloud and HDS-certified options for the most sensitive public-sector and health data.
Predictable economics
No charge for inbound traffic and capped, transparent egress, so data-heavy AI and analytics stay affordable and easy to forecast.
AI endpoints & GPU
Managed inference for open-weight models and NVIDIA H100 and L40S GPU clusters for training, fine-tuning and batch inference.
Open and portable
Standard Kubernetes, OpenStack and bare metal keep your workloads portable and free of proprietary lock-in.
Managed data services
Managed PostgreSQL, MongoDB, object storage and private registry, operated for you with data kept in region.
Sustainable
Water-cooled, energy-efficient data centres with strong sustainability credentials and a low PUE.
Our approach
Discovery & fit
We confirm where OVHcloud is the right home and where a hyperscaler still fits, mapping each workload to its sovereignty, cost and performance needs.
Sovereign architecture
Landing-zone design covering regions, networking, identity, security and a FinOps baseline before anything moves.
Migration
Repeatable migration of workloads and data, with parallel running and rollback, minimising disruption.
Run & optimise
Managed operations, monitoring and cost optimisation, or a clean handover to your own team.
What we deliver
- Sovereign landing zones for regulated public-sector and health data
- GPU training and fine-tuning clusters with NVIDIA H100 and L40S
- Managed Kubernetes and bare-metal platforms for hybrid designs
- Self-hosted LLM inference and retrieval-augmented generation services
- Managed PostgreSQL, object storage and private container registry
- Disaster recovery between OVHcloud regions
- Migration of EU workloads from US hyperscalers
When OVHcloud is the right fit
OVHcloud is not always the answer, but for the right workloads it is a strong one. It tends to fit when:
- You handle regulated public-sector, health or financial data that must stay in the EU
- You need SecNumCloud or HDS certification for a workload
- You run data-heavy AI or analytics and want to escape unpredictable egress bills
- You want open, portable infrastructure without proprietary lock-in
- You need GPU capacity at a more predictable cost than the hyperscalers offer
How it fits with your hyperscaler
OVHcloud rarely has to be an all-or-nothing choice. We commonly place sovereign or cost-sensitive workloads, such as confidential AI, GPU training and regulated data stores, on OVHcloud, while keeping SaaS-integrated or globally distributed services on Azure or AWS. A hybrid design gives you sovereignty and cost control where it matters, without giving up the reach of a hyperscaler everywhere else.
Frequently asked questions
Is OVHcloud genuinely sovereign?
OVHcloud operates its European regions under European law, with SecNumCloud-certified options insulated from extraterritorial data-access requests. We help you choose the region and certification tier that match your obligations.
Can we run AI and GPU workloads on it?
Yes. OVHcloud offers NVIDIA H100 and L40S GPUs and managed AI endpoints. We build training, fine-tuning and inference platforms on them, often for open-weight models such as Llama, Mistral and Qwen.
How does the pricing really compare?
OVHcloud does not charge for inbound traffic and caps egress, which is where hyperscaler bills most often surprise data-heavy teams. For the right workloads the total cost is materially lower and far easier to predict. We model this against your specific workloads.
Do we have to leave AWS or Azure?
No. Most of our clients run OVHcloud alongside a hyperscaler. We design the split so sovereign and cost-sensitive workloads sit on OVHcloud and everything else stays where it works best.
